With "San Pascual", Carlos recreates an “exvoto” (a votive offering to a saint given as a gesture of gratitude in fulfilment of a vow). The painting follows the formal characteristics of this typical Mexican art, but adding a contemporary superficial need that contrasts with the thanks that used to appear in the traditional ones.
